Mr. Binod Kumar Bawri is a leading intellectual, visionary, and entrepreneur in India. He is the pioneer of industrialization in North-East India. For over forty years he has dedicated himself to the economic and social enhancement of North-East India.
He is the Founder of Calcom Cement, the largest private-sector enterprise in North-East India. Calcom provides direct and indirect employment to over 25, 000 people annually. Mr. Bawri has over thirty years of experience in the cement industry, and over forty years of business experience in manufacturing. At the age of twenty-one he set up one of the first manufacturing industries in North-East India.
He is very active in policy circles. He is a Director of India Foundation, a premier think tank in New Delhi. India Foundation is focussed on the issues, challenges and opportunities of the Indian polity. Based on the principles of independence, objectivity and academic rigor, the Foundation aims to increase awareness and advocates its views on issues of both national and international importance. He is a Member of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), an Innovation Promotion Platform established by Prime Minister Modi under the aegis of NITI Aayog. AIM’s mission is to rapidly promote innovation and entrepreneurship in India. He is the Founder of ‘Ideopedia’, an organization that disseminates cutting-edge information and ideas to over five thousand of India’s ‘top influencers. The readers, India’s top brass, are leading policy makers and opinion makers.
He is a Senior India Advisor to Greater Pacific Capital LLP. He was the Managing Director and Chairman of Vinay Cements Ltd. He has delivered talks at several worldwide forums including IIM, Technology Conferences, Universities, leading government organisations, and more.
Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale is a scientist and a nationalist. He is In-Charge, Department of Foreign Affairs, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He drives Prime Minister Modi’s outreach and relationship building initiatives with the 30 million Indian Diaspora worldwide.
He actively engages with the Indian diaspora thus bringing them into the fold of India’s development story. He constantly interacts with the diaspora globally and encourages them to be informal ambassadors for India. Interaction with the Indian Diaspora has been an essential component of Prime Minister Modi’s overseas visits. Dr Chauthaiwale is actively involved in coordinating community receptions for Prime Minister Modi across the globe. Additionally, he interacts with foreign embassies, diplomats and delegates of various countries to put forward party perspectives on issues of mutual interests.
Before joining active politics, he worked in senior management roles in Pharmaceutical Research and Development for 18 years. He was the Vice President (Discovery Research), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd, India. His main expertise is new drug discovery and R&D portfolio management. This vast experience provided him with deep expertise in diverse operational issues like portfolio management, business development, collaboration management, resource optimization, interactions with regulatory agencies, and exploring funding opportunities. Over the years, he successfully built, led, and motivated several high performance teams.
Along with his team he developed three NCEs that are in various stages of clinical development. He holds a Ph.D. (Microbiology) from the University of Pune, India. He spent four years as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, USA. He is the author of several peer reviewed scientific papers and he holds several patents.
Ambassador Asoke Kumar Mukerji is an Indian diplomat and writer. He was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations from 2013 to 2015. He was the Former Special Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, India where he was responsible for India’s foreign policy planning and review, participation in international organizations, border management, and cyber issues.
He headed the Government of India’s multi-agency counter terrorism working groups with foreign countries, including the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. He co-chaired the India-EU Security Dialogue. During his 36-year career in the Indian Foreign Service, Ambassador Mukerji served in London as Acting/Deputy High Commissioner; Moscow as Deputy Chief of Mission, overseeing the acquisition of state-of-the art air, land and sea defence systems by India’s armed forces; and Washington DC as Political Officer and Special Assistant to the Ambassador.
He was India’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Kazakhstan (2005-2007), successfully negotiating the acquisition of India’s first Caspian Sea oilfield. He opened and headed India’s embassies as Charge d’affaires in the newly independent Central Asian states of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in 1992.
He was Consul General of India in Soviet Central Asia from 1990-1992. He has worked in the Soviet/East European and Central Asian Divisions. As Consul General of India in Dubai he introduced the first ever public-private partnership welfare scheme for the 1 million Indian workers in the UAE. Ambassador Mukerji has extensive experience in international trade policy and law, having been commended by the WTO Dispute Settlement Body for his “unsurpassed” knowledge of WTO issues. He was Chairman of the WTO’s Committee on Specific Commitments under the GATS in 1997. He has published five books.

He was the Managing Director of Calcom Cement, the largest private-sector enterprise in North-East India. He spent over a decade building and running cement plants in Eastern India. He was the founder of Cijen, an analytics and software company based out of California. He served as the President of the University of Michigan Indian Alumni Association. He is a member of the Alumni Board, Ross School of Business. He co-founded the India Business Conference at the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business.
He served on the Entrepreneurs Organizations’ Board in Kolkata in 2011, 2012, and 2017. He served on a committee to set up a digital platform for Prasar Bharati. He has actively promoted the culture of North-East India through art. He was President, Rotary Club, East Kolkata and a Paul Harris Fellow. He has several patents pending in the United States. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and a Bachelors degree in Economics, from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
Malvika Bawri is the Co-Founder and President of Think India. She is the Founder of Diduce Technologies, a software startup focused on search. She is the Co-Founder of Quantta Analytics, a Big Data and Artificial Intelligence driven platform that creates efficiencies in human interactions.
She was the Chief Strategy Officer of Calcom Cement, the largest private-sector enterprise in North-East India. She is the Founder of ‘Ideopedia’, an organization that disseminates cutting-edge information and ideas to over five thousand of India’s ‘top influencers’. Ideopedia’s readers, India’s top-brass, are leading policy makers and thought leaders. The top 5000 influencers in India, including Top members of the Judiciary and the Legislature, Leading Scientists, Distinguished Academicians, CEO’s, and others, comprise the Ideopedia Circle.
She was the Founder of Saroj Antiques, a global antiquarian company. She was the Co-Founder of Cijen, an analytics and software company based out of California. She has been granted a patent by the USPTO and has several patents pending. She was the Founder of Thaella, a high-fashion accessories company that infused fashion with art. She started her first company designing fashion apparel at the age of sixteen. Her other interests include writing, image consulting, mentoring, art, yoga, and hiking. She holds an MBA from Pepperdine University, USA.
